Program Certification and Recognition

There are many competing companies offering different programs to the public. The TrainingZone.ca group of organizations researched what is available and who offers recognized and superior programming. Through this research it was discovered that there are very few "recognized certifications" available for the types of programs we provide.

We chose to become affiliated with the best and most recognized program providers in the world. We are an Authorized Canadian Red Cross Provider, a National Ski Patrol (NSP) Affiliate and an Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association Member. In addition to being experts in their fields, all of our instructors are certified to offer instruction through these member organizations and adhere to each organizations guidelines and standards to ensure quality programs.

AP

All Red Cross programs meet the latest International ECC/CPR Guidelines and follow strict quality control guidelines and procedures for content development, update and delivery. The Red Cross Wilderness First Aid & CPR programs are recognized under the Canada Labour Code Regulations and meet requirements of the National Occupational Health and Safety Regulations applied to federal government agencies and other national organizations workplaces across the country as well as WSIB Regulation 1101 in Ontario.

NSP

The National Ski Patrol (NSP) is the worlds largest Search and Rescue organization consisting of over 27,000 members in North America and Europe practicing at some of the largest and busiest mountainous areas in the world.  Over the years, the internationally recognized NSP education programs have evolved to address the needs of other outdoor-based emergency care providers. SARTA's Search And Rescue instructional programs, combined with the OEC program, focus on Remote HastyTeams and Remote Rescue. Successful graduates are capable of participating and/or leading Hasty Rescue Teams into remote environments.

orcka

The ORCKA Canoeing Program consists of four canoeing disciplines, each with three skill levels, beginning with canoeing fundamentals (Basic Canoeing) and progressing to the highest canoeing skills level including canoe tripping. The ORCKA Canoeing Program is the only provincially and nationally accepted canoeing program used within the province of Ontario. ORCKA's Canoe Tripping program is the core of our tripping programs.

SAR Council

Our online Search And Rescue instructional programs meet the criteria as set out by the National Ground SAR Council of Canada for Basic/Advanced SAR and SAR Management.  The programs are intended to be used as a theoretical resource and are not a replacement for practical training and practice.

Note: each province and/or profession may have different minimum requirements for membership or employment. Qualifying exams may be required. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that each program will be appropriate to their needs (e.g., acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies or other educational institutions). Please check with the appropriate regulating bodies in your area for more information.
